Meet Dick Helmutt. Not only is Dick a big jerk of a super-hero but he was also a personal project I was working on called I; Hero. I had his whole story planned out to the detail when I decided that I should abandon the idea. After a few minutes of self-analysis I realized that Dick Helmutt was just a reaction to feeling creatively stifled by The Tick's insipid cuteness. But how long could that feeling of back-lash propel me before I calmed down and got sick of doing this new, morosely dark character? Not long, I think. So I scrapped Dick. But I've got a lot of other ideas rapping on the backs of my eyeballs. Here are a few samples of non-Tick art I've done in recent days.
