SAN DIEGO (CNN) -- San Diego police, responding to an emergency phone call, rushed to the scene only to find a room ransacked by a pig that had apparently dialed 911.

It is one hog call police here won't forget.

Apparently the pig -- angered by a diet she was placed on -- tore up her owner's bedroom, stepped on the phone and somehow dialed the emergency hot line Tuesday. The owner set the police straight after they arrived.

"Because it was feeding time and she'd decided it was time to eat, she'd trashed my room. She overturned my telephone stand," David Wittman said.

The pig, Mende, when asked why she called police, simply belted out a high-pitched screeching noise.
