February 1997:
Went to Houston to interview for a job with Anadrill Schlumberger.
Went to Chicago for the auto show... I'll post photos later.
Visited Chicago for a job fair...
Still looking for work... Still working extra hours at Whirlpool to fill the gap...

January:
Interviewed with GM's Delphi Harrison Thermal Systems in Lockport NY.
Worked many hours at Whirlpool... and finished the Forklift Training Manual. It's got lots of pretty pictures now.

December 1996:
I graduated from Purdue University with a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. What am I gonna do now? I'm going to Disney World... Not!
I interviewed with Cytec Industries in Wallingford CT. Nice place, as far as chemicals plants go, but our interests didn't match too well.

November:
I did homework, interviewed, and worked on writing the Forklift Training Manual for Whirlpool Quality Control. Exciting, huh?
Mmmm... Turkey!

October:
Feast of the Hunter's Moon - Every October West Lafayette holds a harvest celebration. The theme is based on the Voyageurs from Quebec, and the culture and heritage of the local area in the days of fur trading between the French and the Indians. It's about as much of a tourist trap as you can find around here, but it's still fun to go and pig out on fattening food and see all sorts of interesting sights.

September:
Took a short road trip to Chicago to get art supplies for Shannon, and we spent some time at the Shedd Aquarium, looking at - joy! - frogs!

August: Grand Canyon Road Trip - caution - 700 kB of graphics
I love to travel, and so does my girlfriend Shannon. So, we planned out a trip to get away from the routine of work and to have some fun.
We went to:
- Carlsbad Caverns
- Acoma Indian Pueblo
- Painted Desert and the Petrified Forest
- Meteor Crater
- Grand Canyon
- Four Corners
- Ship Rock
- Black Canyon of the Gunnison
- US Air Force Academy

July :
Worked lots of hours and visited Whirlpool's LaPorte facilities.

June:
Worked lots of hours.
At work there was a coloring contest - I won a ticket to King's Island park!
On the fourth, the Olympic Torch came through town. Shannon and I bought back our shift at work to go see it... It was kind of anticlimactic, though it was a bit funny how big a deal it was - seems it was the biggest thing to hit this town in years...

February 18:
Visited the Chicago International Auto Show with Linda and Andy from work and Andy's brother Tony. Car shows are fun... And we spent some time around town, too.
